  • The National Survey on Volunteering Issues 2011 - Full Report Released

    Following the release of the key findings on International Volunteers Day 5 December 2011, Volunteering Australia have released the full report of the National Survey of Volunteering Issues.

    The survey illustrates the enormous strengths brought to volunteering through all partners the experience, resourcefulness and commitment to finding solutions, and identifies priority areas where a greater investment of effort would make a difference.

  • New website for Threatened Plants Tasmania

    Threatened Plants Tasmania (TPT) is an organisation for volunteers who want to help with the conservation and recovery of Tasmania’s threatened plant species. TPT volunteers work in close cooperation with senior botanists from the Threatened Species Unit of the Tasmanian government. Tasmania has over 500 plant species listed as threatened and only limited resources to look after them. TPT members undertake field trips to survey, monitor and manage threatened plants throughout Tasmania.

  • Bushcare - Hobart City Council

    Bushcare is a community-based program in which volunteers help regenerate and preserve Hobart's bushland, with the assistance and support of Council. Through the Bushcare program we work to protect local biodiversity, undertake activities that help to maintain ecosystem services and enhance wildlife habitat. There's a Bushcare group working in our bushland reserves every weekend and there's bound to be one in your local area.
